Concerns Over Child Safety and Extremism in Cox’s Bazar Madrasas

Approximately 4,000 learning centers in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, serve 250,000 children in Muslim refugee camps, as reported by Save the Children and UNICEF. There is a need for due diligence and accountability to ensure these programs do not mask problematic Madras schools that could foster extremism.

Due to incidents of teachers violently beating and disciplining children in Islamic religious schools (madrasas), these schools do not install CCTV cameras, as can be understood through the video.
