ULA/AA Donates Meat for Eid al-Adha in Maungdaw

On June 7, the Arakan People's Revolutionary Government (APRG), under the ULA/AA, organized a public Eid al-Adha event in Maungdaw and donated meat curry to the local Muslim community for the celebration. Around 300 people—including ULA/AA leaders, Muslim religious figures, and local residents—attended the ceremony.

This marks a shift from past years when celebrations were limited to private homes. The APRG also donated 10 cows to support underprivileged Muslims. A religious leader praised the gesture as a step toward mutual respect, religious freedom, and peaceful coexistence among ethnic groups.

Under previous military rule, such events were restricted, and local residents faced limitations on movement. Now, Muslims in Maungdaw report enjoying greater religious freedom and security, with the AA conducting regular patrols and addressing criminal activity.
