Hindu Woman Brutally Attacked in Dinajpur Over Land Dispute

On August 8, 2025, Nila Rani, a 44-year-old Hindu woman from Dinajpur, Bangladesh, was brutally hacked while returning home, allegedly by Mozammel Haque, a member of the Islamist party Jamaat-e-Islami.

Local sources claim the attack, linked to a land dispute, targeted Rani while she was alone. She is currently hospitalized, receiving treatment for her injuries. The incident has sparked calls for justice amid concerns over targeted violence against minorities in the region.
